TEDxUF is Gainesville's largest and longest-running independently
organized TED event committed to the mission of spreading meaningful
ideas. Through this fully student-led conference, you’ll hear from
speakers of various disciplines, sharing their ideas on how we can
better the world around us.
This year, our conference will be
held on April 6th from 12pm-5pm at the Phillips Center for the
Performing Arts. This event is free and open to the public, however all

This award provides research-related travel expenses for UF PhD students in selected majors in the humanities, arts, and social sciences, so they can effectively conduct doctoral dissertation research away from UF if department departmental funding is inadequate. Art in Engineering - Call for Artist Engineers!
Our annual Art in Engineering Museum Night is scheduled for Thursday, April 11th from 6-9 p.m. at the Harn Museum of Art. This has been a big event (over 700 attendees).
If you are interested in displaying your music, art, or art-making, please complete the following form no later than 11:59pm, Wednesday, March 27th.

The forms of art or art-making can include, but are not limited to: painting, drawing, digital design and display, collage, photography, musical performance, seminars/lectures on an art in engineering topic, wood work (created, decorated, etc.), robotics and other engineering designs, reading of poetry and other forms of the written word, etc.
We are seeking all kinds of performance art, including juggling, music of different forms, acting, dance, etc. A minimum of one member of your performing group must be an engineer. While your presence near your displayed piece is preferred, you need not be present to display your work. More detail about the display requirements will be provided after you respond with your commitment to present your work.

Packaging and Labeling Specialist - Volunteer Opportunity in Guyana
Packaging and Labeling Volunteer- Guyana (15 days in March or April)
Guyana Marketing Corporation (GMC) is responsible for the coordination and facilitation of the development of quality non-traditional agricultural produce and products. The areas of labeling and packaging continue to be a challenge for GMC. The purpose of this F2F assignment is to build the capacity of GMC’s staff and its clients (Agro-processors, Exporters) in packaging and labeling for fresh produce and processed products so that ultimately they can improve product presentation and increase sales and profitability. Throughout the assignment, the volunteer is requested to conduct 4 workshops for agro-processors and exporters on topics such as biodegradable packaging and to offer recommendations for label design software and printing equipment.
Our program covers all volunteer costs including airfare, lodging, meals, insurance, and any other assignment-related expenses.

Engineering Research Day March 28th- Present your poster!
Several
Engineering Student Organizations (EGSC, SHPE, NSBE, and SWE) have
come together to plan the first College-Wide Engineering Research Day at
UF. This Research Day will take place in the Reitz Union on March 28 from 12:00
- 2:00 pm. This event is a poster session in which graduate students can share
their research with the rest of the college. This is a great
opportunity for graduate students looking to practice presentation skills
and potentially find collaborations with professors in other departments.
