Learn more and share your thoughts about UF’s Strategic Development Plan at May 2 public meeting
UF students, faculty and staff as well as members of the greater Gainesville community are invited to a public meeting Monday, May 2, where they will hear about progress on UF’s Strategic Development Plan and have an opportunity to provide feedback on future planning.
The meeting is scheduled from 6 to 7 p.m. in the Warrington Room at Emerson Alumni Hall, 1938 W University Ave., and will feature a presentation from the consulting firm Elkus Manfredi Architects in strategic partnership with DumontJanks. Team members will share results of the CoMap survey that was open for 14 days beginning April 7 and drew responses from nearly 2,200 members of the UF and Gainesville community.
Meeting attendees will be able to ask questions following the presentation. Laptops will be set up and staffed before, during and after the meeting for anyone who wants to contribute to the CoMap survey.
The University of Florida, with support from the Gainesville community, launched the UF Strategic Development Plan to identify ways to create a physical environment conducive to preeminence by examining the elements that make a great university town, including housing, transportation and overall infrastructure. Commissioned by UF senior vice president and chief operating officer Charlie Lane, the plan will provide possible roadmaps for the future of UF and the surrounding community by identifying the best opportunities for livability, wise growth and economic viability.
For more information, contact Linda Dixon, UF’s Director of Planning in the Division of Planning, Design and Construction, ldixon@ufl.edu, (352) 273-4010.

Thankfully Marco Pazmino's family and friends are OK; however, thousands of people have lost everything. Thousands are wounded and hundreds people are dead. Sadly this number is going to increase drastically as the days go by especially in the smaller towns along the coast.
Cesar Moreira (also from Ecuador) and former ABE PhD student is visiting Gainesville until Friday. He is going to deliver some contribution to the embassy of Ecuador in Miami. Therefore, I am asking for your help. Please if you have any old clothes, shoes, nonperishable food, batteries, candles, first aid kits.
A collection center will be located in the break room downstairs
If you have any question, please feel free to contact me or contact Cesar Moreira - cmoreirav@gmail.com
