As you prepare for the UF Career Showcase, the UF Career Resource Center
has posted a sale on suits on their Facebook site in case you are
looking to purchase professional clothing. It appears to be coordinated with the JC Penney through the UF Warrington College of Business.

Research Abroad for Doctoral Students

SMART Couples classes - register now
Students have the opportunity to participate in SMART Couples classes at UF as part of the multi-million dollar SMART Couples grant. Whether you are dating, engaged or married, these classes are perfect for you and your partner. Dinner is provided along with the opportunity to earn up to $35 per person ($70 per couple) in gift cards after completing all 5 sessions. Three separate classes are offered beginning September 11, 12 and 13 from 6-8:30 p.m., once each week for five weeks. Senior Irrigation Engineer position
Natural Resources Consulting Engineers, Inc. is seeking to fill a full-time opening for a senior irrigation engineer at its office in Fort Collins, Colorado. Position will provide technical support for projects related to water resources, irrigation, and water infrastructure. Position requires a Ph.D. in Agricultural & Irrigation or Civil Engineering.
Applicant must meet the following qualifications:
- Understand irrigated production agriculture in the United States.
- Experience with water transfers and western water rights.
- Engineering skills to design and estimate costs of irrigation systems, including pipe and
pumps sizing, determine required heads for gravity, gated pipe, sprinkler and drip
systems, pressurized and surface irrigation systems, land leveling needs, canals, and
ditches.
- Understanding of water measurement, surface and groundwater hydrology.
- Ability to conduct irrigation system evaluations.
- Understanding and ability to assess canal operation and maintenance.
- Understanding of GIS and mapping.
- Ability to calculate crop and reference crop evapotranspiration, develop irrigation
schedules, and estimate irrigation water demand.
- Demonstrate excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Experience in budget management of projects and interaction with clients.
Salary commensurate with qualifications and includes an excellent benefits package. Please

Student-Run Dance Company Auditions
Interested in joining a fun student run dance company?
Practice is one time a week for the duration of the semester and at the
end of the semester there is a performance in the Phillips center which
is video recorded. It is free to join and open to both undergraduates
and graduates.
Pre-Audition Clinic - SATURDAY, AUGUST 26TH:
Returning members graduating in Fall 2017 are not required to audition (unless wanting to move up levels). If you are graduating in Fall 2017 and do not want to audition, please email proof of graduation (I believe you can screenshot your degree audit, or anything else that shows you are on track to graduate in Fall) to me at extremedancesecretary@gmail.com. If you are not auditioning because you are graduating, you do not need to attend auditions. However, you DO still need to fill out the audition form linked above.

PhD position in urban water at Colorado State University
A CSU professor is seeking a PhD student to pursue research on the fate of urban landscape irrigation in the Colorado Front Range and the contribution of lawn irrigation return flow to stream base flow. The work will involve a combination of field data collection at the plot and small watershed scale, integrated hydrologic modeling, and remote sensing analysis.
The applicant should have completed a MS degree and have a background in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a related field. The graduate admissions deadline for priority consideration of available funding is 1 September 2017 in order to start in Spring 2018.
