Ken and Cindy Campbell Graduate Student Travel Scholarship 2019 -Deadline May 1st
Graduate students are encouraged to apply for the Ken and Cindy Campbell Graduate Scholarships.
Established in 2015 by Ken and Cindy Campbell to support graduate students researching water-related issues in the Department of Agricultural and Biological Engineering at the University of Florida/IFAS.
Scholarships of up to $750 will be awarded in support of expenses related to travel for research projects, competitions, and participation in a competitive unpaid internship or workshop.

Engineering Project Management Certificate
A new graduate certificate in Engineering Project Management has been approved effective Summer 2019 semester. The certificate involves completion of the following 3-credit hour courses (with grades of 3.0 or better):
- EGS 6626 Fundamentals of Engineering Project Management; and
- EGS 6628 Applied Engineering Project Management, with EGS 6626 as the prerequisite; and
EGS 6626 and 6628 will be in a new online format and available beginning Fall 2019 semester. All graduate students (on-campus and EDGE students) will register for these new online courses. The other ISE courses should also be available to EDGE students as well, with ESI 6555 offered during Summer semester.
FYI: We’ll again be offering two sections of EGS 4626, the undergraduate Fundamentals of Engineering Project Management course, in Fall 2019 semester.
- EGS 6626 Fundamentals of Engineering Project Management; and

Food Security Summer School in Tel Aviv University - Travel scholarships still available
This summer, Tel Aviv University is hosting a series of short courses designed to develop the next generation of food security academics and policy makers. Select graduate students and professionals will spend one week in intensive theoretical and lab classes at the Manna Center for Food Safety and Security. Students will create their track of study from classes and workshops in agricultural production, policy, nutrition, and technology. While each short course costs $900, two scholarships will be offered by the CSRA. There will be a limited number of dormitory rooms available for students who apply early. The Department of Energy Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) Program is Now Accepting Applications
The Department of Energy’s (DOE) Office of Science is pleased to announce that the Office of Science Graduate Student Research (SCGSR) program is now accepting applications for the 2019 Solicitation 1. The deadline to apply is 5:00pm ET on Thursday, May 9, 2019.

The SCGSR program supports supplemental awards to outstanding U.S. graduate students to conduct part of their graduate thesis research at a DOE national laboratory/facility in collaboration with a DOE laboratory scientist for a period of 3 to 12 consecutive months—with the goal of preparing graduate students for scientific and technical careers critically important to the DOE Office of Science mission.
The SCGSR program is open to current Ph.D. students in qualified graduate programs at accredited U.S. academic institutions, who are conducting their graduate thesis research in targeted areas of importance to the DOE Office of Science. The research opportunity is expected to advance the graduate students’ overall doctoral thesis/dissertation while providing access to the expertise, resources, and capabilities available at the host DOE laboratories/facilities. The supplemental award provides for additional, incremental costs for living and travel expenses directly associated with conducting the SCGSR research project at the DOE host laboratory/facility during the award period.
The Office of Science expects to make approximately 50 awards in 2019 Solicitation 1 cycle, for project periods beginning anytime between October 28, 2019 and March 2, 2020.

TEDxUF is Gainesville's largest and longest-running independently
