Purdue Prospective Faculty Workshop (PPFW)

The College of Engineering at Purdue is hosting a workshop for Post-Docs and PhD students designed to help them develop the skills important for success in a facuty career. The all-expense paid workshop will be held on February 26-28th.

The Purdue Prospective Faculty Workshop (PPFW) is a two-day event that provides information to Ph.D. students and post-doctoral fellows aspiring to pursue faculty careers in Engineering at major research institutions.  In addition to attending information sessions, participants will have an opportunity to talk with engineering department faculty and administrators, visit laboratories, and learn about research conducted there.  Possible information session topics include:
  • Expectations of faculty members
  • Proposal writing
  • Developing a research plan
  • Mentoring Graduate students
  • Developing/Teaching a class
  • Networking
  • Writing a personal development plan
  • Engineering across cultures
