Graduate Student Research Day deadline extended to March 13th, 2017

Due to low registration, the deadline to submit for the submission of abstracts for Graduate Student Research Day has been extended to March 13th, 2017. The Graduate School requests your help in encouraging your students to register for this opportunity to further enhance their presentation skills and compete for top poster awards.

The event will be held Monday, April 3rd, 2017 in the Grand Ballroom of the Reitz Union. Registration for participants begins at 9:00 a.m., and the poster sessions begin at 10:00 a.m. As kick-off to the Graduate Student Appreciation Week festivities, this event is designed to showcase the breadth of research across the UF campus and will include both STEM and non-STEM topics. The networking theme will afford students opportunities to connect with one another and faculty members as well as learn from top scholars, including keynote speakers Dr. Julie Dodd, Professor in theCollege of Journalism and Communications, and Dr. Alex Sevilla, Associate Dean and Director of the Heavener School of Business.

A 1st place prize of $500 and a 2nd place prize of $200 will be awarded to posters from each category - STEM and non-STEM. Poster winners will also represent the University of Florida at the Florida Statewide Graduate Student Research Symposium on April 21 in Tampa.

Abstracts may be submitted by March 13th, 2017 (11:59pm) for a spot in the poster competition at http://ogap.graduateschool.ufl.edu. Faculty and postdocs are invited to attend and register as judges.
