A CSU professor is seeking a PhD student to pursue research on the fate of urban landscape irrigation in the Colorado Front Range and the contribution of lawn irrigation return flow to stream base flow. The work will involve a combination of field data collection at the plot and small watershed scale, integrated hydrologic modeling, and remote sensing analysis.
The applicant should have completed a MS degree and have a background in Civil and Environmental Engineering or a related field. The graduate admissions deadline for priority consideration of available funding is 1 September 2017 in order to start in Spring 2018. NEW Course! ALS 5932 Project Team in either Algae, Sweet Corn, or Tomato - 3 credits - Fall 17
The Center for Stress Resilient Agriculture is pleased to announce three new Project Team courses.
Each class will bring together a diverse set of advanced M.S. and Ph.D. graduate students to address a real world problem under mentorship from faculty and industry representatives. The interdisciplinary team will tackle an actual existing project provided by an industry partner. Through this guided team approach, students will work to provide a detailed plan, design, and any relevant preliminary data for working towards a scientific evaluation and solution of the problem presented.
Prior experience in algae, sweet corn or tomato is not required!

2017 Stormwater Scholarship Available
Graduate students studying water quality, stormwater management or stormwater finance at a Florida college or university are eligible to receive the Florida Stormwater Association Educational Foundation’s (FSAEF) Scholarship. The deadline to submit an application is August 4, 2017.
The Florida
Stormwater Association (FSA) is a non-profit, professional association of
local governments, engineering and consulting firms, water management
districts, and academic institutions that have an interest in stormwater
management and finance. Its goals are to improve water quality and
enhance the stormwater management profession in Florida. The FSA Educational
Foundation is a parallel organization that supports FSA through stormwater

existing conservation and socioeconomic priorities into conservation planning

1) Seeking
Postdoctoral Associate in Ecological Modeling
The SCA project team is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate
in Ecological Modeling to be based out of the Department of Agricultural and
Biological Engineering at Mississippi State University. The Postdoctoral Associate must hold a Ph.D.
in biological or environmental engineering, geography, geosciences, ecology,
environmental science/management, or other related fields. ABD candidates will

following skills: spatially explicit ecological modeling, landscape

background and expertise with geographic information systems (GIS) and other
related software applications and technologies is required. The ideal candidate will also have some
combination of experience developing web-enabled geospatial data applications,
expertise in other GIS software applications and html programming applications,
as well as experience working in Gulf Coast landscape conservation, large-scale
data applications, spatially explicit ecological modeling, multi-criteria

SCA staff to develop a suite of ecological models and associated geospatial
applications predicting ecosystem, species, and/or socioeconomic response to
potential Gulf Coast system stressors and planned coastal restoration
activities. The Ph.D. student must hold a Master’s degree in geography,
geosciences, ecology, environmental science/management,
biological/environmental engineering, coastal or marine ecology, wildlife and
fisheries science, or other related fields with competitive GPA and GRE scores.
Research experience with predictive ecological modeling and geographic
