The BOE Summer Fellowship Program is open to US citizens or permanent residents who are newly accepted into a UF doctoral program and are underrepresented in their field of study, first generation, low-income status or ethnic or cultural minority. Applications will be accepted April 1st thru May 1st,
2015.
This six-week summer program is designed as an orientation to graduate education and promotes acclimation to the University of Florida. The goal of this program is to provide newly enrolled doctoral students with the groundwork for their graduate education by: (1) supplementing the student’s knowledge of the research process; (2) honing their research writing skills and (3) easing the transition into graduate level studies at the University of Florida.
Student receive:
· $3500 stipend to help with the transition to Gainesville
· Four credit hours of paid coursework in their respective departments
· $100 Gator Dining card for peer mentoring meetings
· Solid support system in the Office of Graduate Minority Programs
