WiSE Spring Workshop: Linking In and Branching Out - Online Presence for Women in Science

Do you have a professional online presence? Are you putting your best foot forward online? Are you communicating effectively using online media? These are some of the questions we will explore during this workshop. You will hear from Matthew Cowley from the Career Resource Center about how to best utilize online networking sites such as LinkedIn and ResearchGate. Then we will hear from award-winning journalist and Hearst Visiting Professional Cynthia Barnett about effective online communication for scientists.

Matthew Cowley, Assistant Director of Career Development, UF Career Resource Center
The Career Resource Center Misson: “To educate and create connections for the University of Florida community in order to facilitate the holistic career development of students”
Cynthia Barnett, Hearst Visiting Professional, UF College of Journalism and Communications
Ms. Barnett has over 25 years of journalism experience and has written several high profile and award winning books. She is a visiting instructor at UF this semester, teaching a course on Environmental Journalism.
