The UF Graduate School’s Office of Professional Development invites all graduate students to attend the “Fall 2015 Professional Development” workshop series.
There’s a lot more to being a successful graduate student than research itself, and we’d like to offer you the chance to learn new skills and tips for making your education at UF a smoother and more enjoyable experience. This fall, learn about resume and cover letter writing with the Career Resource Center, the technology patenting process and the resources available at the UF Innovation Hub, managing your stress and personal health with the Counseling and Wellness Center, and the all-important process of submitting your final thesis or dissertation with the Graduate Editorial Office.
The individual workshop sessions will be held on the following dates and times at the McKnight Brain Institute, Room LG101-A, except for the September 8th workshop, which will be held at the Innovation Hub:
Tuesday, September 1st, 4pm-5pm – “The Grad Student’s Guide to Resumes, CVs and Cover Letters”

Tuesday, September 8th, 4pm-5pm – “The Grad Student’s Patent Rights: UF Office of Technology Licensing at the Innovation Hub”
Speaker: David Day

Tuesday, September 15th, 4pm-5pm – “Staying Well in Graduate School for International Students”

Tuesday, September 22nd, 4pm-5pm – “Staying Well in Grad School: Stress Management and Mental Health”

Tuesday, October 6th, 4pm-5pm – “Thesis and Dissertation Submission”
Speakers: Stacy Wallace and Ken Booth
To register, log into GIMS and follow the steps below. Register early to guarantee yourself a spot!

Login to GIMS using your GatorLink ID and Password: http://gradschool.ufl.edu/gimsportal/gatorlink/portal.asp
Once you login, on the top of the page click on the “Workshops” tab
Under “Register” click the box and then “Submit”
After you complete this process, you will receive an email confirmation.
If your schedule changes and you are unable to attend the event, repeat the steps above to remove yourself from the list of workshop attendees.
