Position: Ph.D. Assistantship

Position description: A Graduate Research Assistantship is available for a Ph.D. student starting in Spring 2020 or sooner in the Department of Plant Science and Landscape Architecture at the University of Connecticut. The successful candidate will conduct applied research on water footprint of greenhouses crops. This research will allow close collaboration with a multidisciplinary team of horticulturists, engineers, economists, social scientists, and commercial growers.
Requirements: A M.S. degree in Horticulture, Agricultural Engineer, or Biological Sciences-related discipline is required. Experience working in a research laboratory and/or greenhouse is preferred and skills in microbiology, plant nutrition greenhouse production, and irrigation are desirable. Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team are essential for the successful candidate.
The position will be ideal for a self-motivated individual interested. The student will be enrolled in a program towards obtaining a Ph.D. in Plant Science. The position will remain open until filled.
