Job Summary:
This position supports the data needs for a wide-range of surface water, groundwater, and water quality modeling projects designed to protect natural resources and support Florida’s growth by ensuring the sustainable use of Florida’s water.
Job duties include:
• You will work on a team with hydrologists, engineers, and scientists to create water quantity and water quality models for managing key elements of water resources in northeast Florida. Your role will be to organize and manage large datasets that include meteorological, GIS, hydrologic, and water quality data. On a typical day you could assess quality of existing data, evaluate alternative sources of data, or conduct statistical data analyses.
• This job requires you to develop customized programming scripts (R or Python) to streamline data retrieval and process and format time series data for use in various types of numerical models.
• When project goals require outside expertise, you will be relied on to prepare scopes of work for contractual projects and review the deliverables of contractors.
